Coast Guard rescues stranded hikers in Oregon and Washington on Monday

Oregon and Washington Coast Guard crews made rescues around the same time Monday night, hoisting three stranded hikers to safety.

At about 9:15 p.m. Monday, crews at the North Bend station got a call that two men were stranded on rocks about 40 feet above the shore near Cascade Head in Tillamook County. An air crew arrived on the scene around 10 p.m., and sent a rescue swimmer to reach the hikers. About 20 minutes later, the crew hoisted the hikers about 100 feet into the helicopter and transported them to Newport Airport. Neither man reported any medical issues more at
