Gov. Kate Brown to declare ‘Rise Above Plastic Pollution Day’

SALEM, Ore. — Gov. Kate Brown will officially proclaim Thursday as “Rise Above Plastic Pollution Day” at the Oregon State Capitol.

The event is co-hosted by a number of environmental groups and the Oregon Coast Aquarium.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., students from all over the state will be able to tour plastic education stations to learn about pollution and what Oregonians are doing about it. Students will also meet with state legislators to discuss the issue.
