DOUGLAS COUNTY COUPLE HONORED IN LEGISLATION SIGNED BY PRESIDENT

A Douglas County couple is being honored in legislation signed into law by President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

As part of the Public Lands Bill, nearly 100,000 acres of Forest Service land north of the North Umpqua River was designated as the “Frank and Jeanne Moore Wild Steelhead Special Management Area”. A release from Senator Ron Wyden said the bill ensures the river, and the surrounding area, will protect steelhead habitat and preserve recreation opportunities for generations to come.
