Snow greets Salem, Portland and Gorge, deepens on Cascade Mountain passes

UPDATE at 2:09 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9

Most of Salem received only trace amounts of white Saturday morning, although South Salem had more than 2 inches in some places.

The majority of Willamette Valley snow fell in the Portland area, especially on the east side where some parts of the metro area got four inches and the Columbia River Gorge was blanketed.
