Siuslaw News | Wall honors Oregon’s veterans

Dec. 8, 2018 — Veterans from the Umpqua Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America arrived in Florence Friday morning with a replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall from Washington, D.C.

The vets unloaded and assembled the replica at Oregon Coast Military Museum.

While the design of the wall is derived from the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, the names inscribed there are of fallen servicepersons from Oregon.

The center panels in black contain the names of those lost in Vietnam and on the USS Pueblo. There are panels off both sides in sandstone color with the names of those Oregonians lost in Panama, more at
