Be safe, beachgoers: Forecasters are warning the public of the potential for sneaker waves along part of the Oregon coast.
The National Weather Service said there’s an increased chance of the dangerous waves on the coast in Douglas, Coos and Curry counties through Friday morning. Sneaker waves are sudden, unpredictable surges that can knock people over or pull them out to sea.
The weather service also warned of breaker heights measuring 14 to 16 feet.
